The Shimano Calcutta Conquest 401A is a robust big bait reel and comes with a gear ratio of 6.2:1. The housing consists of a milled aluminum body and the aluminum spool is extra deep for use with thicker FC lines. With a gear ratio of 6.2:1 and a resulting line retrieve of 84cm per crank revolution, this reel is ideally suited for fishing with big baits for pike. It offers a maximum drag of 7kg and weighs only 340g. It is suitable for lures up to the DEPS SlideSwimmer 250 and has a line release clicker. The deep aluminum spool with the redesigned SVS centrifugal braking system allows for extremely relaxed casting distances and offers ample line capacity for fluorocarbon enthusiasts. The synchronized level winder rotates during the casting phase, preventing additional friction that would compromise casting distance.
