The Shimano Scorpion MD (Monster Drive) 300XG is a robust bigbait reel and comes with a gear ratio of 7.6:1. The housing is made of an aluminum alloy and the aluminum spool is extra deep for use with thicker FC lines. With a gear ratio of 7.6:1 and a resulting line retrieve of 103cm per crank revolution, this reel is ideally suited for big bait fishing for pike. It offers a maximum drag of 8kg and weighs 325g. It is perfectly suitable for lures up to and including the DEPS SlideSwimmer 250. The 43mm aluminum spool with the 8-pin SVS braking system allows for extremely relaxed casting distances and offers sufficient line capacity for FC enthusiasts.
