Designed and manufactured in Japan, the “Deps Sakamata Shad 7” Real” is an extremely sophisticated soft jerkbait that creates an unpredictable baitfish action that large predators simply cannot resist. The unique body shape and hydrodynamic profile exhibit low water flow resistance, allowing even the slightest movements of the rod tip to easily execute a sideways movement in order to trigger aggressive reaction strikes. The keel fins along the head also channel water downwards and push the lure upwards, imitating a shad leaping to the surface to evade predators. At rest, the fins act as stabilizers, allowing the lure to hang perfectly horizontally and not upside down, as is the case with other soft jerkbaits. The Deps Sakamata Shad Soft Jerkbait is shaped with a deep groove along the belly for better hook penetration and hook slots along the back to position the hook point for a perfectly weedless rig. Rigging techniques that are also very popular in Japan include rigging the “Deps Sakamata Shad” on a small split-shot rig or a heavy Carolina rig to target fish in deeper waters.
