Daiwa Steez LTD SV TW

The Daiwa Steez LTD SV TW is a high-end baitcasting reel from Japan and a new product for 2021. The housing is made of a magnesium alloy, making the reel lightweight. What makes this reel special is the SV Boost braking system installed by Daiwa, which has significantly increased the casting distance. This braking system was already familiar from previous models, but has been further refined here. With a gear ratio of 7.1:1 and a resulting line retrieve of 75cm per crank revolution, or 6.3:1 and 67cm per crank revolution, this reel is ideally suited for perch and zander fishing with light to medium lures. It offers a maximum drag of 5kg with a weight of 160g. For 2022, the 1000S-XHL was launched, which has a flat spool and a gear ratio of 8.5:1 with a 90cm line retrieve. The line capacity here is 100m of an 8lb line. The G1 SV duralumin spool, in combination with the new SV Boost braking system, allows for extremely relaxed casting distances and offers ample line capacity. The TW system further increases casting distances when using thicker fluorocarbon lines. As a suitable line, we recommend the test winner of braided lines from Japan , Seaguar R18 Seabass x8 .
