Designed and manufactured in Japan, the "Deps Sakamata Shad" is an exceptionally sophisticated soft jerkbait that creates an unpredictable baitfish action that large predators simply cannot resist. Its unique body shape and hydrodynamic profile offer minimal water resistance, allowing even the slightest rod tip movement to effortlessly initiate aggressive, sideways strikes. Keel fins along the head further channel water downwards and propel the lure upwards, mimicking a shad leaping to the surface to evade predators. At rest, these fins act as stabilizers, ensuring the lure remains perfectly horizontal rather than tilting upside down, a common issue with other soft jerkbaits. The Deps Sakamata Shad Soft Jerkbait is shaped with a deep groove along the belly for improved hook penetration and hook slots along the back to position the hook point for a perfectly weedless rig. Rigging techniques, also very popular in Japan, include using the Deps Sakamata Shad on a small split-shot rig or a heavy Carolina rig to target fish in deeper waters.
